I’m a 59 year old woman who has tried many diets over the years. I would have some weight loss success, then gain back the weight plus more. Low carb diets? Yup, I did that for a while. Weight Watchers? Yup, did that for a while too. Severely restricting calories? Also have experience with that. After a short period of time, all of these programs left me feeling like I just couldn’t go on with it.

Ten years ago I completed a Master’s Degree in Psychology and discovered my passion for helping women improve their lives. But psychology couldn’t solve my weight problem. And by the time I hit menopause, I’d given up on even trying to lose weight, believing weight gain is inevitable for women after a certain age.

Then, I became a certified Life Coach + Weight Loss Coach through The Life Coach School. I learned that my mind is so much more powerful than I’d ever imagined. My thoughts were preventing me from losing weight and keeping it off. Simply changing my thoughts allowed me to succeed on my own weight loss journey.

I also discovered that making micro-changes to both my eating plan, and my thoughts, is all it takes to lose one pound — again, and again, and again. I call this “one crumb at a time,” because the changes are so small, and I’m a foodie who likes cooking analogies! It’s the same way I perfect a recipe: a tweak here, then a tweak there, until I’m confident that the final dish is exactly what I want. In particular, small changes in thinking have allowed me to lose weight while continuing to enjoy chips and wine.

I’ve had so many ah-ha moments along the way, but my favorite is: losing weight is FUN. Yes! It really is fun! Because I know how to control my thoughts, I know I’ll never regain the weight.
